 Ridgetop Music Festival
On August 16, 2009, celebrate Appalachian
music and storytelling at the Vinton County Airport.
In Vinton County, mid August can mean only one thing
— it is Ridgetop Music Fest time! That’s right, and
this August is no exception. The annual
family-friendly event features local and regional
musicians, storytelling, crafts, delicious food,
split-the-pot, and airplane rides. The jolly man in
the red suit even makes an appearance. That’s
right, Santa stops by for a while to give candy to
all the good little boys and girls.
The event spotlights traditional and bluegrass music
and even offers "Five Minutes of Fame" segments for
individuals who want to stand up and sing a song.
Airplane rides are offered for a fee, and there
will be a classic car cruise-in this year as well.
For the youngsters, there will be face painting.
Plenty of food is available. Or bring a picnic if
you like.
 Admission is free, but a parking donation is
